Industrial Painter

As the Industrial Painter, you will bring our products one step closer to completion by selecting and mixing the appropriate customer paint requirements. Industrial Painter will also be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of paints and paint booth equipment.

Job Description

  • Spray equipment to apply paint and other materials.
  • Clean and prep surfaces using such processes as sanding, scraping and grinding.
  • Remove grease, dirt, paint, or rust in preparation for paint application, using abrasives, solvents, or sandblasters.
  • Pour paint into spray guns and adjust nozzles and paint mixes for proper paint flow and coating thickness.
  • Sand surfaces between coats of paint or primer to remove flaws.
  • Inspect surfaces for contamination prior to application of paint.
  • Ensure all paint related waste is properly labeled, stored and disposed.
  • Maintain paint booth and associated equipment to ensure proper working condition.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, especially health and safety rules, use of personal protective equipment and WHMIS.
  • Work safely at all times and maintain a safe work area.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Positive attitude, respectful and friendly communication, and a team player.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of safety standards in the performance of painting duties.
  • Proficient with paint system and booth maintenance procedures.
  • Must be able to operate lifting devices for movement of parts.
