General Machinist/Drill Press Operator

The General Machinist / Drill Press Operator will be joining a fast growing team and be responsible for performing machining operations, such as turning, milling, drilling, boring, planning, honing, broaching, grinding or other machining operations.

Job Description

  • Set up and operate machine to perform machining operations, such as turning, milling, drilling, boring, planning, honing, broaching, grinding or other machining operations
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces
  • Fit and assemble machined metal parts and sub-assemblies
  • Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
  • Work safely at all times and maintain a safe work area
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Overhead crane and forklift experience an asset
  • Able to read blueprints
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Previous experience with parts in an industrial setting is an asset
  • Able to work individually and as a part of a team
